Personally, I don't put a lot of value in Super Bowl futures because at the end of the day the house walks away with 31 bundles of losing tickets.

However, most fans want to lay a wager on their favorite team or have high hopes to hit the jackpot with some team flying under the radar.

So with kickoff just hours away, what does the Super Bowl XLVIII betting landscape look like?

Back in May, Las Vegas opened up the 2013 board with the San Francisco 49ers as +500 favorites. At the time they were also the most popular pick with 10.8% of the early bets.

Fast forward to today, and the 49ers are anywhere from +425 to +725, depending on where you shop. Once again, they are the consensus pick to come out of the NFC. In the AFC, the Denver Broncos are the top team pegged to make it to the big dance with odds ranging from +575 to +650.

So despite the fact that this is a prediction sure to go wrong, these are my best bets for Super Bowl XLVIII.

Green Bay Packers (+1350) over the New England Patriots (+1000)
