As people all across the country scramble with overnight lines, a good number of them will also be looking to enhance or recover from Sunday's action.   Let's take a look at one of the two Monday Night Football games on the docket.

Odds for these games could change, so be sure to check here for the latest.

  • San Diego Chargers vs Kansas City Chiefs - SD -4.5
The San Diego Chargers enter the 2010 with a different vibe about them.  It's been Philip Rivers' team for a while now, but he is now the undisputed leader with L.T. out the door.  He's officially reached the upper echelon of quarterbacks and with an easy schedule there is no reason to believe he won't put up big numbers again this year.  The offense should be more balanced with Mathews toting the rock and the team has enough depth to overcome the early holdouts.  The addition of Crayton will help ease some of the pressure off the WR corp as they look to collectively replace Jackson's production. Even without Cromartie, the secondary will be fine and won't be overly challenged against the rebuilding Cheifs.

Kansas City will have the advantage of opening at home and make no mistake about it, this is one tough place to open the season.   Charlie Weis will add a new wrinkle to the offense and the running combo of Charles/Jones will take some of the pressure of Cassel.   However, will it be enough?  Cassel will need to step up and start earning his huge contract if he hopes to stay around long enough to see this plan unfold.   He'll be happy that his offensive line should be better than last year, but unfortunately the rest of the team is still too young and inexperienced to hope for miracles.

Look for Rivers to have ample time to find his receivers.  He is mature enough to overcome the tough early crowd and by the 4th quarter Mathews should be sealing the game with first downs.  KC have some nice talent, but when one of your best players is your punter - you know you still have problems.

Weather should not be a factor in this game.  Watch the line as it has had some interesting movement over the last week.  You may need to lay more points if you wait, but don't be surprised to see some reverse line movement late in the week.   Prediction: Bank SD -4.5.
