  • Baltimore Ravens vs New York Jets - BAL +2.5
Before the preseason, public perception had the Jets winning the Super Bowl.  Ok so maybe not the Super Bowl, but as time has passed the money has switched back over to the Ravens.  In the big picture the Jets have serious potential, but the Jets don't match-up well in this one.

Sanchez has a ton of pressure on him and the jury is very much out on him so far.  He did not look dramatically better in the preseason than he did last year.  Revis will be huffin and puffin by the 4th quarter and Santonio Holmes will be holding pom poms.  The running game will need to have a huge game to take this one.

For BAL, they couldn't have caught the Jets at a better time.  The Ravens have serious problems in their secondary, but luckily for them they play a team that won't be able to exploit it.   Their strength is in their front seven which suits them well in this match-up.   Their offense should be better later in the season, but it will be good enough to pull this one out.  Acquiring Housh will give Flacco another possession receiver to keep the chains moving against a stingy defense.  Boldin may not stay healthy for the entire season, but he should make it through week 1.   Expect BAL to lay some 'hard knocks' on the J-E-T-S.    Prediction: Bank BAL +2.5.
